Catalog Description:The student will study and demonstrate knowledge of basic concepts of geometry, emphasizing deductive reasoning, and including lines, planes, angles, triangles, circles, congruence, similarity, parallelism, perpendicularity, lengths, areas, and volumes.

Prerequisite: Math 103 or Math 103R with a grade of C or better.

Calculator requirements: You will need a scientific calculator, a compass, and a protractor for the course. If you need to buy a calculator, I suggest theTI-83 since you will probably need it for the sequential courses.

Grading: 3 tests will be given during the semester.

The comprehensive final exam will count as much as two tests.

The quiz average will count as much as one test.

A homework-attendance grade will count as half of a test.

90-100% A, 80-89% B, 70-79% C, 60-69% D

If you are having trouble with the course material, please get help

early. Come in to office hours or take advantage of tutoring in the

Math Lab. Forming a study group with other students will help.

No make-ups are given. No late papers are accepted.

Homework is due at the beginning of class.

If you miss a test, please come in and talk to me as soon as possible. If you miss a class, you are responsible for finding out what was covered. Please record the phone number of several classmates to call for that purpose.
