Course Description:
This class is designed to provide an increased
self-awareness of personal fitness levels and fitness concepts through course
material and laboratory testing of physical fitness components. Exercise
prescription for an ongoing training program will be provided with a monitoring
of progress throughout the class duration.
Course Objectives:
Upon successful completion of course requirements students will:
- Participate in a physical fitness test battery measuring strength, flexibility, body composition, and cardiovascular capacity.
- Demonstrate skills that positively affect the individual's lifestyle.
- Demonstrate knowledge of fitness principles.
- Understand the physiological and psychological benefits of regular exercise.

Course Requirements:
- Participate in a daily exercise routine.
- Athletic shoes and clothes are needed for a safe and effective workout.
- Bring a water bottle to class for proper hydration.
- Do not wear perfume or cologne in the fitness lab.
- Record daily exercise routines into an exercise log.
- No text book required.
