Carter's Grove Plantation
Carter's Grove, completed in 1753, is one of a
a handful of grand old plantation
homes that still survive along the James River in
Virginia between Richmond and Williamsburg.
Because most travel in the 17th and 18th
centuries was by river, the main entrance to this and
all of the river plantation homes,
faces the river. To virtually tour five more
of these charming homes, and to find your first
three questions, click here.
