Your two quizzes this semester will be conducted on Angel rather than in class.  These quizzes cover the textbook (Chapters 1-4, 11, 12, 13  for Quiz 1, and Chapters 7-10, 14, 16, 17 {pp. 550-554; 574-585}for Quiz 2) and online readings (of which there are several for Quiz 2).  In addition to reading the textbook, you may find useful the companion web page for our Ethridge textbook maintained by Wadsworth/Cengage (your books publisher) at http://www.wadsworth.com/cgi-wadsworth/course_products_wp.pl?fid=M20b&product_isbn_issn=9780495570486&token= . This companion web page has practice quiz questions (though only for the textbook, not the online readings).

HOW TO LOGIN TO AN ANGEL COURSE

Your login username consists of all seven digits of your student ID number.  Your student ID number is generated by the computer at the college after you apply for admission for the first time and is included with all of the paperwork you may have received from the college.  You should also be able to get your college student ID number through Web Advisor.

If your college ID number is 1234567, your login name would be 1234567.  NOTE: There are no spaces in your login username and it is NOT your social security number.

Your password is your six digit birth date.

 So if you were born on December 14, 1980 , your password would be 121480
Single digits must have a 0 in front of them
So if you were born on May 9, 1977 , your password would be 051977

Now that you have determined your log in name and password, Angel may be accessed through the following login page:  http://wvmccd.angellearning.com

WHERE TO FIND THE QUIZZES

After logging on to Angel, you will find Quiz 1 located under the Lessons tab.  Don't start the quiz until you are ready to take it.  Once you start the quiz, you have 35 minutes to complete it.  In other words, you must complete it in one sitting (you cannot pause the quiz and then come back to it at a later time.)

QUIZ AVAILABILITY

Quiz 1 will be available between Thursday, February 28 and Saturday, March 2 (11:55 pm).
Quiz 2 will be available between Thursday, April 25 and Saturday, April 27 (11:55 pm).

If you encounter problems on Angel and let me know early enough in the week, I will do by my best to correct the situation.  But if you wait until Saturday night and encounter problems that I do not have time to fix, you will NOT have the opportunity to make up the quiz.

Both quizzes will END on Saturday night at 11:55 pm and will NOT be extended.  You have plenty of time to take this quiz.  DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE ON SATURDAY NIGHT.

Once you have completed the quiz, you will be given a score; but the answers to the questions will not be available until after the quiz availability has come to an end (Saturday night).
