901A - COMPUTER ASSISTED INSTRUCTION

 

This course is offered on a Credit/No Credit basis and Credit is awarded on the basis of completion of assigned software, with an 80% or better accuracy rate, and completion of lab hours.

 

PROJECT COMPLETION: Software projects designed to work on higher level thinking/communicating skills such as judgment, problem solving and analysis will be assigned on a regular basis.  Projects should be completed to the best of your ability and returned to the instructor on or before the due date.

 

HOURS: You must complete at least three hours of class/lab each week.  It is your responsibility to sign in each time you begin and end a lab period.  If you are more than 15 minutes late for your lab time, the computer will be available to other students on a first come, first serve basis.

 

ATTENDANCE: Class meetings and lab attendance are mandatory. Excessive absences may result in your being dropped from the class or receiving a NO CREDIT.

 

OBJECTIVES: This course will enable the student to;

A.   Demonstrate reinforcement of cognitive and critical thinking skills used in mainstream classes.

B.    Demonstrate awareness of the microcomputer and it's uses within the instructional program.

C.    Demonstrate logical reasoning skills in solving problems related to academic, work, and personal situations.

D.   Demonstrate dependability, self-direction, and motivation by planning and organizing time and tasks to accomplish course objectives.

E.    Demonstrate the ability to establish and adhere to priorities by self-evaluation of performance and performance modification for instructional assignments.
