"Backsaving" an InDesign document


Exporting InDesign CS2 documents for use in InDesign CS


To open an InDesign CS2 document in InDesign CS, you must first export the document to the InDesign Interchange (INX) format.

Then install the update Adobe InDesign CS 3.0.1 April 2005 (CS2 Compatibility Update). You can obtain this update by choosing Help > Updates, and following the prompts. You can also obtain this update from the Adobe website: Choose Support > Downloads, and then go to the InDesign Downloads page.

Be aware that content created using functionality specific to InDesign CS2 might be modified or omitted when you open the file in InDesign CS. For example, footnotes and object styles (new features in InDesign CS2) drop out. However, object style attributes applied to page objects are preserved when possible.
