If you are an instructor of record for a course according to the college's Admissions and Records office, that course is automatically available to you in ANGEL. As the instructor of record, you can see the course title on the "My Profile" page under the "My Courses" subheading, as well as when you select the "My Courses" link in the left frame.
By default, students can see and enter the course if they are enrolled in that particular section of the course. But students are not usually given access until the first day of the semester or sometimes the day before the semester begins.

The District Datatel system and the Angel Learning Management System communicate with each other everyday, including course and student add and drop updates. If your course is not loaded into the District Datatel system, it will not be active.
The title of a course appears in the "My Courses" list.
Note: If there are multiple instructors of record for a course, any of them can edit its content or activate it. It is recommended that you coordinate with all instructors of the course to avoid any surprises.
So if an student enrolled in your course clicks on the course section link within Angel, the course will come up as active, but will be basically blank until you upload some content into it. Even if you just put up your syllabus to let students know when and if the course will be active, at least students won't be guessing if this is the right place that they are supposed to be and the status of the course.
