___ 1.  Look at the list of vocabulary words for this section on page 486. Use the  vocabulary CD to listen to the pronunciation of these words, and then listen and repeat, paying close attention to pronunciation.

__ Before beginning this lesson, you may want to visit your library to see what periodicals are available in French, and the library or video store for names of French directors and stars of Francophone films.

__ Read the TV listings first. Note the use of 24-hour clock. Note also that programs do not always begin on the hour or half-hour. This is mainly due to the fact that on French TV, commercials are grouped together and presented in short blocks between shows. You can easily obtain current TV listings on the Web. Consult Chez nous Website (www.prenhall.com/cheznous) for helpful links.

__ Read the mini-dialogue on page 448, paying close attention to pronunciation. Read pages 448 and 449, paying close attention to the different types of film listed. Highlight the titles of French movies and the names of famous French actors and actresses. You might want to select a title among those listed, and view it at a local French cine club for the laboratory component of French 1B.
