What you will need:

A Computer
You will need a computer with an internet browser. If you do not own a computer, you can use one at the West Valley College Technology Center for a $5 fee.

E-Mail
There are no classroom sessions scheduled for AJ 001 - Online. Therefore, there is no face-to-face contact with other students or the instructor. Although communication by telephone, fax, regular mail and personal meetings with the instructor are available, virtually all communication between the instructor and students and among students in this class is via e-mail. If you are just getting started using e-mail, some basic instruction will be provided at the beginning of the course to make sure everyone is clear about how messages can be sent back and forth, how assignments will be made and submitted and how comments and grading will be done. If you do not have e-mail, you can get an e-mail account through the Technology Center at West Valley College. You can also set up a free e-mail account through Yahoo! Just go to Yahoo.com and follow the instructions.

Internet Access
Some assignments will require using the internet to do research. A basic knowledge of how to use one of the Internet Guides like Yahoo! is necessary for this. If you have not done much web browsing, some basic instruction will be provided at the beginning of the course about how to use an Internet Guide. If you do not have access to the internet, you can search the web using one of the computers in the Technology Center at West Valley College.
