Course Description

This class is an introduction to basic principles of electronic imaging through the use of digital cameras, film and print scanners and Adobe Photoshop. The main emphasis of this class will be on using Adobe Photoshop 6.0 images from digital cameras and scanned images. It is designed to acquaint you with the basic controls and tools of the product and give you a perspective on the application of those tools and controls in the creation of digital images for the multimedia world.

Textbook:

The textbook for the class is Adobe Photoshop 6.0 Classroom In A Book. Adobe Press publishes it.It comes with a CD-ROM. It is important that the CD-ROM is with the book, so examine the book carefully before you purchase it to make certain that the CD-ROM is included.

I would also recommend Deke McClellandss Look & Learn Photoshop 6 as a very good reference manual. It is not required, but would be a very useful companion to Adobe Photoshop 6.0 Classroom In A Book,

I would also strongly suggest that you take books to Kinkos and have a coil-binding put on them. This is very useful when using the textbook while working at the computer, It enables you have your book lie flat next to you on the desk.
