COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is described in the Foothill College catalog as follows: “
Morphology and physiology of bacteria, fungi, and viruses. Mechanisms of pathogenicity, host-parasite relationships, the immune response and principles of disease transmission. Techniques of microbial control including sterilization, aseptic procedures, use of disinfectants"

Units 5; Class Hours: Three hours lecture, two hours instruction for Lab., four hours Lab. and one hour collaborative learning.

Pre-requisite High school chemistry or CHEM 30A.

Advisory: ESL 25 and ESL 165 recommended. Critical reading skills and knowledge of English sentence structure, and ability to comprehend naturally spoken English in academic context.
