        Introduction to Nutrition-4 units

Introduction to the medical aspects of nutrition.  Biological function and chemical classification of nutrients.  Effects of nutritional deficiencies and excesses.  Recommended nutrient intakes and the role of diet in the development of chronic disease.





Prerequiste(s):
 

     Chemistry: 30A, or 1 year of high school Chemistry
Biology: 40A, 40B, and 40C (BIOL 40C may be taken concurrently). 
English Writing: 1A or ESL 26 recommended.
