Assignments - Spring 2008
This course is divided into three (3) historical periods:
     I. The Colonial Period/American Revolution
     II. The New Nation
     III. The Civil War

There are twelve (12) assignments for the course, roughly corresponding to twelve (12) chapters in the textbook, Nation of Nations. There are four (4) assignments for each of the three (3) historical periods listed above.
Each of the twelve (12) assignments is listed on this Assignments Page along with its due date. Each assignment consists of reading from the textbook, Nation of Nations, or online readings, or both, as well as additional material that I have included in the Study Guide for that assignment.
While doing the reading for each assignment, find and answer the study questions from the corresponding Study Guide for that assignment. Simply click on that assignment's Study Guide to find the appropriate questions. Submit the answers to these questions to me via e-mail any time before the due date listed for that assignment. Please follow the instructions for sending e-mails that will be sent to you when the class begins. There will be a due date for each of these emailed assignments. The due dates are listed below. You may send the completed assignments to me at any time before the due date. You will receive 10 points for turning in a completed assignment. No points will be awarded for late assignments. Points will be deducted for incomplete assignments, incomplete answers or wrong answers. On these assignments, you must DO YOUR OWN WORK. Collaboration on assignments or copying from another student's assignment, or submitting an assignment other than those for this particular class, is not allowed, and will result in your being dropped from the class.
For a detailed explanation of the grading system for these assignments and their relative value in determining your course grade, see the Information/Syllabus page.
